When we use ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘Marcus’ in this privacy statement, we are referring to Marcus by Goldman Sachs® in the United Kingdom. Marcus by Goldman Sachs is a trading name of Goldman Sachs International Bank (GSIB) in the United Kingdom, and GSIB is the controller of your data which is collected and used in the Marcus Community. We use the UserTesting platform to carry out qualitative research, such as interviews and focus groups. GSIB is also the controller of the data you provide within those research sessions.
UserTesting is the controller of personal data you provide outside of our qualitative research sessions, such as information you provide when creating your UserTesting account. For more information about how UserTesting processes your personal information, please see their privacy policy.

The personal data we collect and why
Marcus collects and uses your personal data in the Marcus Community to conduct market research and analysis.
After you join the Marcus Community, we will contact you using the contact details you have provided to:
- ask you to participate in our research initiatives;
- respond to your queries; and
- administer rewards.
When you first create your Marcus Community account, we create a profile for you using your username, email address, first name, last name and date of birth. We collect your survey and study responses and we automatically add information from your responses to your profile. We divide members into groups based on their profiles. If you meet the criteria of a group, you will be added to that group automatically. The profile and groups help us invite you to participate in research initiatives that are most relevant to you.
If you participate in our qualitative research sessions, we may also collect video and audio recordings of you and your screen and other information disclosed within these sessions. We will transcribe the recordings and delete the recordings after transcription.
We use a discussion board to promote member engagement and we collect your responses when you post information on the board. Your responses will only be visible to the moderators and won’t be added to your profile.
If you don’t qualify to join the Marcus Community after completing our recruitment survey, we will delete your data related to the recruitment survey.
How to opt out
If you want to stop receiving market research communications from the Marcus Community, you can either:

How to opt out
If you want to stop receiving market research communications from the Marcus Community, you can either:
- click the “Delete My Data” button, which will delete your Marcus Community account and any data which is associated with this account and held in the Marcus Community platform; or
- use the “Contact Moderator” link at the footer of the Community website to submit a request to delete your account, or a request to opt out of market research communications.
Please note that joining and leaving the Marcus Community does not impact the communication preferences you have saved in the profile of your Marcus account. Market research communications from the Marcus Community will be sent to you via marcusukcommunity.fuelcycle.com. Market research communications that are managed via the communication preferences in your Marcus account profile will be sent to you via no-reply@r.marcus.co.uk.
Your rights
You can request to access, delete and correct the data associated with your Marcus Community account and held in the Marcus Community platform via the “Access Your Data” section of Marcus Community. This process doesn’t cover personal data collected in our qualitative research sessions. To exercise your rights in relation to this data, please contact us using the details set out in section 15 of our privacy policy below.
